Getting Started

Before making PDF's from your publication it is best to configure your computer and applications to ensure that the finished PDF's will be compatible with the RR Donnelley Digital Solution Center. This process involves installing a number of files for your system to use, and configuring both Adobe Distiller and your Layout Application. Follow these steps listed below to configure your computer.

Setup Steps

  1. Install - In order to make compatible PDF's you will need to download and run the Setup Installer for your application configuration. Step 1 will walk you through choosing and running the correct installer for your system.
  2. Create Watched Folder - The best way to make consistent reliable PDF's is to write PostScript files into an Adobe Distiller Watched Folder. Step 2 will walk you through setting up a Distiller watched folder.
  3. Configure Print Settings - To write Postscript files from your layout application quickly and consistently configure your applications output settings. Step 3: Configure your layout applications Print Preset / Print Style.
