Pontiac DSC FTP Connectivity

The following instructions will guide you through supplying/retrieving files via FTP, utilizing a PC or Mac. Prior to transmission, ensure all native application files (layout documents, fonts, graphics) are either stuffed or zipped. Creating a compressed archive of the files will help protect files from corruption during transfer. If the files being transmitted are PDF´s, archiving is not required. Note if you already have an assigned FTP user name and password, substitute where "visitor" is used below.

Windows:

Use MS Internet Explorer; or FTP software if preferred.

  • Contact your Technical Service Representative for username and password.
  • To send files, open the "From_Customer" folder.
    To retrieve files, open the To_Customer folder.
  • To send files, right click inside the window and create a new folder. Name the folder with job name. To retrieve files, select the files(s) to download, and drag to your desktop to start the download.
  • To send files, open the new job folder you have created, and drag files into the window to start upload.

Mac

Use FTP software such as Fetch Softworks or CyberDuck.

  • Enter host information to connect:
    Host: pmtdscftp.rrd.com

    Contact your Technical Service Representative for username and password.
  • To send files, open the "From_Customer" folder.
    To retrieve files, open the To_Customer folder.
  • To send files, create a new directory (folder). Name the folder with job name. See example of "Fetch" menu option at right. To retrieve files, select the files(s) to download, and drag to your desktop to start the download.
  • To send files, open the new job folder you have created, and drag files into the window to start upload.
