Glasgow DSC FTP Connectivity

The following instructions will guide you through supplying/retrieving files via FTP, utilizing the World Wide Web or FTP. Prior to transmission, ensure all native application files (layout documents, fonts, graphics) are either stuffed or zipped. Creating a compressed archive of the files will help protect files from corruption during transfer. If the files being transmitted are PDF´s, archiving is not required. Note if you already have an assigned FTP user name and password, substitute where "visitor" is used below.

User MS Internet Explorer (images below), or similar wb browser software enter the following information.

  • The following window appears.
  • Mouse over Send and click Create Package
  • The following window appears.
  • Click on the Browse button for File 1..
  • Navigate and click on the file to be uploaded. Click on the Openbutton. The window closes and the web page looks similar to the following.
  • Go to the bottom of the web page. Leave the Metadata fields as they are in the image below. Click Submit.
  • the web page refreshes and information similar to the image below appears. Print this page or retain the Package ID for a reference number in case there is a problem with the receipt of the files at the Glasgow DSC.

FTP

Use FTP software such as Fetch Softworks or CyberDuck.

  • Enter host information to connect:
    Host: http://gateway.wamnet.com
    Username: rrdglasgow
    Password: rrdglasgow
  • After entering the information Click Ok .
  • Once logged in double-click on the Ship_Package folder.
  • Double-click on the Address_Book folder.
  • Once logged in double-click on the RRD-Glasgow,KY(1115) folder.
  • Click on the Put Files button.

A new window will open. Navigate to the file to be uploaded and click the Choose button. Click the OK button of the Put File window. File then begins uploaind to the the Glasgow DSC. Once the file is transmitted the application can be closed or another file transmitted.
